Butt Knits
I'm making another Butt Knits diaper cover, but this one for the new baby. I like the pattern, and hope to improve my skills with it.

A New Approach
After several attempts, I've come around a new approach to the baby hat. I think I've got it. If so, it's an obvious and delightful idea for a pattern. I may have hit exactly what I've been looking for with my new number of casting on stitches. I'll assess as it goes along.

How hard can a baby hat be?
I've messed up again on the hat. I keep making the wrong stitches in places. I must stop knitting when I'm so very tired. I'll begin again.

Fixing an Error
I don't know how I make such strange errors in knitting. If only I could just drop a stitch, I could easily fix that. Somehow, I manage to mangle stitches in a complex way. Regardless, I am calm at pulling out all the work, having live stitches, and putting them back on the needles. I've now fixed the hat, and am progressing nicely. My biggest concern is running out of yarn before the baby hat is finished. It may be a rather small cap after all.

Beginning a New Baby Project
I decided to begin a baby hat for the new baby last night. I couldn't find a pattern that suited me, so I'm making one up as I go. I may need to begin again, or redo it. Being a simple hat, I'm sure I'll manage just fine. If I'm happy, then I'm going to teach myself cabling on a baby hat next.

No Christmas work for Lent
Now that we are in Lent, I cannot in good conscience continue work on the Christmas stocking. Instead, I'm knitting for my older boys and looking for new patterns for the baby to come in June.

Reviewing the End-of-Year Work
After having a rough time at Hallowe'en, I took things easier than expected for the end of the year. I only made one gift, and didn't finish the Christmas stocking. I have avoided burnout, to which I was close approaching. I'm ready to begin the New Year afresh, and find my footing again.
